Telenor takes responsibility

During the World Championships, Telenor is responsible for providing the necessary infrastructure for communication, including the operation of the computer network and providing mobile coverage both indoors and outdoors, at the arena, and along the ski trails throughout the area.

Telenor Operations has been monitoring the fixed and mobile networks continuously through the competition, as mobile traffic is consistently higher during the skiing events, as well as during the awards ceremonies in the city center.

50,000 spectators actively using mobile services

It is estimated that more than 50 000 spectators are watching the ski competitions at the arenas and outdoors along the ski course. Spectators are using their mobile phones to look up news and access Web TV in order to see what is going on at the other arenas. Many Telenor users are sharing experiences with friends and family via text messages, e-mail or video recordings.
