Telenor Pakistan has received the Best Place to Work Award 2010 by Pakistan Society of Human Resources Management (PSHRM) and Engage Human Resources.
The award recognizes Telenor Pakistan’s open work environment, egalitarian policies, transformational learning opportunities and equal and non discriminatory benefits. The category for the Best Place to Work included companies from multiple industries such as FMCG’s, pharmaceuticals and financial services among others and not just the telecommunication sector.
“Our success is attributed to all our employees, since it is together that we have contributed to building the best place of work through a model that focuses on building commitment, treating our counterparts with respect and providing each one of us challenges and opportunities to grow,” said Vice President Human Capital Division Telenor Pakistan, Nayab Baig. “At Telenor we believe that exceptional organizations have compelling people strategies that are perfectly aligned with its business strategy; the HR brand needs to be aligned congruently with what the company delivers to the employee, customers, public and shareholders,” he added.
Telenor Pakistan provides employment to 2500 direct employees and 25000 indirect employees. The company has also been voted the ‘Most Preferred Employer 2009′ by ROZEE.PK, an online recruitment company, and won the PSHRM Preferred Graduate Employer Award for Most Preferred Telecommunications Company for 2007.
About the Best Place to Work Award
The award was a result of the Best Place to Work Survey conducted by the Pakistan Society of Human Resources Management (PSHRM) and Engage Human Resources, a human resources consultancy, to serve as a marker of top talent trends in employer expectations, retention and attrition in Pakistan. A hundred of employees from more than 20 companies voluntarily participated in the survey. Employees of the participating companies were interviewed to rate their organization on their ability to engage, align and develop its people.
