"Developing Women of Tomorrow" campaign launched to raise awareness of the important role of women in the workplace
Telenor Pakistan recently kicked off a campaign called “Developing Women of Tomorrow” to acknowledge the important role of women in the development of the society and in the workplace. Through several initiatives, the company is actively addressing the specific needs of female employees and is helping them maintain a healthy balance between work and family life.
The delicate balance between work and home
“Developing Women of Tomorrow” is a visible internal and external campaign that aims to raise awareness of women’s issues and encourage female applicants to apply for positions at Telenor Pakistan. The company currently offers a wide range of benefits and facilities that help its employees maintain a balance between work and personal life, such as transportation services, a day care facility for children, prayer room, cinema, gym and social club.
“The objective behind this campaign is to ensure that people understand our commitment to aiding our female employees in whatever way possible, helping them to continue their careers with fervour and determination,” said Rozina Persnani, Organisational Support Service Specialist, Telenor Pakistan.
Encouraging growth, both personally and professionally
“Across the Telenor Group, it is critical to live by the principle that growth comes from understanding the needs of people who are drivers of relevant changes,” said Hilde Tonne, Deputy Head of Telenor Group, Region Asia.
“Telenor Pakistan is a good example of how we as a group can translate our values into positive outcomes that not only encourage our own people to grow, personally and professionally, but also be a catalyst for change in our industry and the societies where we are present,” continued Tonne.
Best place to work
Telenor Pakistan’s outstanding people and organization development makes it one of the best places to work and the most preferred employers in the country. Throughout its five years of operation, the company has earned several prestigious awards. This year, it won the ‘Best Place to Work’ award from the Pakistan Society of Human Resource Management (PSHRM) and Engage Human Resources.
In 2009, TP emerged as the Most Preferred Employer nationwide in a survey conducted by Rozee.pk, Pakistan’s No. 1 job website. In 2008, at the PSHRM awards, Telenor Pakistan won the HR Excellence Award and prior to that in 2007, it won the title of ‘Most Preferred Graduate Employer’ in the telecom sector, also hosted by PSHRM.
