About 2,200 sites competed in 17 categories, and with the votes of the audience Telenor Serbia WAP site was proclaimed best in mobile phone category.

Educating and promoting the use of Internet

“Web fest” is the first regional festival (Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia) of web projects also intended for promoting the use of Internet. It consists of the selection of the best web sites in different categories, as well as promotional-educational activities. The aim of this festival is educating the public on the possibilities of using the global network of Internet. This was the second time it was held, after the first gathering of web authors in 2007.

WAP portal with multitude of useful information and entertaining contents

The author of the idea on Telenor WAP site, Business Development Manager Vladimir Suvodolac received the award on behalf of Telenor.

- This success relies on the work of a large team that has been constantly improving its look and contents. We try to offer the WAP portal visitors a multitude of useful information, as well as entertaining contents. Today Telenor Music alone has over 350,000 songs. We are thankful to all who saw Telenor WAP portal as a good example and gave it their vote”, says Suvodolac.

Continuous development of the portal

WAP portal started developing in 2001 and has gone through several stages since then. In the beginning, it was just a classic information WAP site with modest information and graphics. Today WAP has grown into a multimedia portal with all the necessary information and exceptional graphic arrangement adapted to all types of mobile phones.

Satisfying customer needs: from daily news to city services and games

At this portal, which is accessible to mobile users of all networks in Serbia (except for multimedia shop “Izlog”), everyone interested can find out what is happening daily in politics, society, sports, world, watch TV on the mobile phone, improve phone with pictures, tunes, games and different applications.

The user can also pick the background colour at the WAP portal (black, red, yellow, and all other available colours). These pages carry information on city services in all major towns of Serbia. Taxi, utility services, bus and railways stations, road assistance, hospitals and health centres are just some of the numbers available to users over the WAP.
