On 5 October 2009 Telenor and Altimo announced their agreement to combine their assets in Kyivstar and VimpelCom into a new Bermuda-registered company VimpelCom Ltd headquartered in the Netherlands.
28 May 2013: VimpelCom announced that the Company has joined the United Nations Global Compact.
24 April 2013: At the AGM of VimpelCom Ltd. in Amsterdam, a new Supervisory Board was elected. The Board now consists of: Jon Fredrik Baksaas, Andrei Baranov, Mikhail Fridman, Kjell Morten Johnsen, Alexey Reznikovich, Ole Bjorn Sjulstad, Sergei Tesliuk and independent directors: Dr. Hans-Peter Kohlhammer and Leonid Novoselsky. Chairman of the Board is Alexey Reznikovich.
18 April 2013: The Supervisory Board of VimpelCom Ltd authorized final dividends for 2012. In total, Telenor will receive 5.2 billion NOK in dividends for 2012 when interim and extraordinary dividend is included.
