Amina Sohail

I have an MBA with a major in marketing, as well as experience from the media industry in Pakistan. Telenor hired me in 2004 to be part of the Telenor Pakistan launch team.

We were responsible for establishing the entire Telenor organisation in Pakistan. From scratch! It was a comprehensive launch project, very intense though, and at times frustrating, but also incredibly rewarding when we reached our goals. I learned a tremendous amount because of that experience.

One year after the launch, I accepted an expatriate position with Telenor in Norway in the Global Coordination unit which is responsible for coordinating projects within the Telenor Group, business development in new areas and providing support to our operating companies. I like to explore new markets, meet people and get fresh inspiration. I was lucky to receive the offer of a permanent position in Norway in November 2007.

Just recently, in January 2009, I have taken on new responsibilities in Telenor's newly set up company, Telenor Connexion, based in Stockholm,  which will sell machine to machine connectivity services all over the world.

I am often used as an adviser on how to bridge the gap between these different cultures, due to my knowledge of both the Asian and Scandinavian markets. I feel that my international experience is very useful.
