DiGi gives free airtime to subscribers in Burma
(May 14, 2008) As a gesture of support to the cyclone disaster which devastated Burma, DiGi allocates free airtime to DiGi prepaid subscribers in the country.
Prepaid subscribers of DiGi in Burma have been given free airtime worth over RM300,000 as a gesture of support since the cyclone disaster devastated their home country.
Free over-the-air reload
This eligible group of prepaid subscribers has been notified and received the free over-the-air reload to their mobile phones automatically.
Help people stay connected
Tom Schnitker, DiGi’s Head of Marketing said, “I can only imagine the deep fear and uncertainty the people of Myanmar here must feel – not knowing if their family and friends are safe or not. We hope this small gesture can help them in some way to stay connected.”
Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar on Saturday, 3 May 2008, leaving more than 60,000 people reported dead or missing.
