”This year, the jury has decided on an international artist with a solid Nordic background – not unlike the development we have witnessed in Telenor in recent years. For more than 35 years Mazur has impressed her audience with her outstanding work.

During this period she has worked with international artists like Miles Davis and Jan Garbarek. We congratulate Marilyn Mazur with Telenor’s Culture Award for 2007,” said President and CEO of Telenor, Jon Fredrik Baksaas.

Communication through culture

For Telenor, culture is an important form of communication. We often talk about boundless communications that unite people and activities irrespective of geographical and organisational lines of demarcation.

New opportunity with Telenor’s Culture Award
”It is wonderful to receive such an acknowledgment, especially from the country of most of my favourite musicians. Through Telenor’s Culture Award I get the opportunity to absorb myself in my musical world without having to run as fast as I usually do,” said Marilyn Mazur.

First time the award is being made international For the past 12 years the cultural award has been awarded to individuals, groups and institutions that have made a significant contribution to Norwegian culture. This is the very first time the award is being made international. Through its activities the cultural programme will help build Telenor's reputation and demonstrate the values the company upholds.
