Reporting on Corporate Responsibility Performance

Reporting is an important way for Telenor to monitor its economic, environmental and social impact and to communicate with stakeholders. In order to provide you with the most up-to-date information and minimise our environmental impact, our reporting is online only. All our reporting is presented on this website.

CR reports from Telenor:

  • Telenor Annual Reporting includes an overview of sustainability reporting from the year 2001 onwards
  • GRI Index is a framework for reporting on our economic, environmental, and social performanc
  • Telenor Environmental Performance has been reported since 1996. The reporting covers the key environmental aspects of Telenor's activities in its consolidated companies. The most important aspects are the use of energy and the emissions of CO2 from our buildings, network and travelling

Telenor also reports to external organisations and analysts:

  • The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes rank companies worldwide based on their performance according to economic, environmental and social criteria. 2008 was the second year that Telenor occupied the number one spot in mobile telecommunications and the seventh year in a row that we achieved a world leading position
  • The United Nations Global Compact was initiated in 1999 by the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan. By participating in Global Compact, Telenor has undertaken to include the 10 principles in its activities
  • Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent not-for-profit organization which was established in 2000. Its goal is to facilitate dialogue between companies and investors, dialogue supported by quality information, from which a rational response to climate change will emerge. Telenor reports to the CDP project annually on its performance related to climate change

Telenor has established a set of practical guidelines for ethical behaviour that applies to all employees, managers and anyone acting on behalf of Telenor. The Codes of Conduct forms the basis of all our policies and procedures, covering everything from confidentiality to corruption.
