Telenor Norway is launching a new security package for children - SikkertBarn - a free additional service enabling Telenor customers to prevent their children from accessing unwanted content and ditto costs on their mobile.
“It is important for Telenor to “walk the talk” when it comes to safeguarding children and young people using the technologies we provide. Our “Bully Filter”, “Child Sexual Abuse Filter” and our “Use Your Head” campaign against digital bullying, are all examples of measures introduced to making children safer online. Now we take another step in this direction as we introduce SikkertBarn (SafeChild), a service aimed at young children who have just picked up their first mobile,” says Svein Henning Kirkeng, Head of Consumer Markets in Telenor Norway.
Block access to value added services
SikkertBarn enables parents to block access to a number of value added services for which the child might be charged including Internet access and overseas calls, to mention a few. Similarly, the service also makes it possible to prevent children from being listed in various directory services and thus prevent them from being approached by marketing agencies.
Free additional service
SikkertBarn is launched as a free additional service available in stores, via customer service 09000 and on telenor.no.
