On 1 October 2009, Promonte, the Telenor Group's Montenegrin operation launched its mobile phone recycling campaign "Old phone, new life".
For each returned mobile phone for recycling, Promonte provides relevant benefits to their customers, such as discount for purchase of mobile phone, or a number of free on net minutes and SMSs during limited period of time.
Recycled phones contributing to environment protection
During the recycling campaign, Promonte sets aside one Euro for each phone that has been handed in, to support diverse projects in the field of environment protection. Preservation of forest in co-operation with the Forest Directorate, and marking the birds in one of the largest bird reserves in Europe at Skadar lake, are some of the projects supported.
Engaging customers to protect the environment
Promonte customers can learn about environmental protection, recycling and supported projects on ECO WAP page. They also have the possibility to directly donate money to one of the mentioned projects through SMS donor line.
