dtac partners 1414 hotline services for blind people now available free of chargewith Thailand Association of the Blind.
When blind or print disabled (a person unable to read due to a disability) people dial 1414 on their dtac mobile phones, they are now able to access news updates and general information free of charge, 24 hours a day.
dtac’s cooperation with the Thailand Association of the Blind is part of its “Do Good Deeds Every Day” project, and its purpose is to use mobile telecommunications to expand learning opportunities for blind and print disabled people in Thailand.
“Our Do Good Deed Every Day project is proud to have the opportunity to support information access via the mobile phone for blind people. Through our support we are making it even easier for the blind to receive essential news and useful information,” said Perapong Klinla-or, Head of Corporate Responsibility, dtac.
Currently, the 1414 hotline is one of the most popular information channels for blind and print disabled people in Thailand, with an average of 4,200 calls per day. People using the hotline have access to general news and information, life development news for the blind and access to audio books from The National Library of the Blind.
