Labour Rights

As a responsible employer, Telenor recognizes the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) eight fundamental conventions concerning freedom of association and the recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of forced labour, child labour and discrimination in the work place. These conventions are reflected in Telenor’s Code of Conduct and Supplier Conduct Principles.

ILO’s eight conventions

Telenor believes in the importance of employee involvement. Through dialogue with employees or their representatives, Telenor utilizes the employees´ experiences and insight to influence and support sustainable and satisfying working conditions. This dialogue also contributes to the continued development of sustainable business growth in the Telenor companies.

Telenor has also signed an agreement with UNI Global Union, the voice of 20 million service sector workers around the world, in order to establish a platform and framework for dialogue between UNI and Telenor on fundamental labor rights. Telenor recognizes the importance unions can play in representing employee interests, and the role UNI can take in this regard, based on their knowledge and competence concerning labor relations.
