Awards and Recognitions
The corporate responsibility work in many of the Telenor companies has been recognised with several rewards worldwide which we in Telenor are very proud of. Here are some examples.
dtac wins award for mobile banking service (25 November 2008) Telenor’s Thai mobile operator dtac has been awarded for its highly popular mobile banking service ATM SIM. The award for “Best Mobile Money Service” was presented at the GSMA's Mobile Asia Congress gala opening in Macau on Tuesday 18 November. GSMA is the global trade association for mobile operators. |
Environmental Excellence Award (Pakistan, 8 July, 2008) Telenor Pakistan has been awarded the 'Environment Excellence Award' for 2008 by The National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH). This is the first environment award ever won by a mobile operator. |
Telenor Pakistan wins Helpline Trust Award (Pakistan, 24 September 2008) Telenor Pakistan wins award at the Helpline Trust's second Annual CSR Awards for showing commitment to customers and the community in which they operate. |
(18 November, 2008) Pannon, one of Hungary’s leading mobile operators and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telenor, has been announced the best of 25 Hungarian companies in terms of CSR management by the Good CSR 2008 programme. |
Telenor named top performer by Sustainability Yearbook (19 February, 2008) The Telenor Group is ranked the best Mobile Telecom company in the world by the Sustainability Yearbook 2008. |
(Barcelona, 13 February, 2008) CellBazaar, an innovative market-access service from Grameenphone won the 3GSMA Global Mobile Award 2008, in the category of "Best Use of Mobile for Social & Economic Development." |

DiGi's Amazing Malaysians wins first-ever corporate award (19 November, 2006) DiGi was awarded the Anugerah Pendukung Seni (Sektor Korporat) by the Malaysian Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage for their Amazing Malaysians program. This was the first time ever the Ministry was giving out the award to a corporate organisation. |
Business Ethics Award for Pannon (November 2006) Pannon was awarded this year's Business Ethics Award. The award recognizes Pannon's ethical behaviour towards its employees, customers, business partners and the environment as well as its corporate citizenship efforts. |
