Maria Miesenberger

Miesenberger’s monumental sculpture shows an oversized figure of a child. One of the figure’s hands is raised in a self-confident gesture, and you can also sense a dualistic emanation of sensuality and vulnerability. The sculpture is spread over three floors at Telenor’s headquarters.

Miesenberger broke through as an artist with the series “Sweden/Schweden”, in which she manipulates family photographs from her own childhood in Sweden and Austria. The pictures are all in soft focus and the subjects appear as dark shadows and silhouettes.
