Tom Gundersen

Tom Gundersen has degrees from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry works within a variety of graphic techniques.  His works have been purchased by the National Museum of Art in Oslo and several other public institutions, and he is particularly known for his accurate portraits. He says his portraits are a mix of traditional portraiture and caricature, and that he always references art history when creating his portraits. He often uses old, partly worn-out prints or ‘palimpsests’ as the ‘canvases’ on which he paints his modern portraits.
