Richard Wright

Richard Wright, born in 1960 in England. He lives and works in Scotland. Wright graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art and the Glasgow School of Art. Painting directly on walls, he makes good use of architecture and space in his work. Using small repetitive patterns reminiscent of old-fashioned wallpaper, he uses simple lines and geometric shapes to create new spaces and perspectives in dialogue with architecture. In 2009 Richard Wright was awarded the much-coveted Turner Prize.
