Torvald Moseid (1917-2000) studied at the National College of Arts, Craft and Design in Oslo/Norway from 1940-45 and at Hadeland Glassworks and at the Royal danish Porcelain Works in Copenhagen.
Moseid has experimented with a number of different techniques, but he is best known as a textile and church artist. He has decorated a number of churches in Norway and abroad.
He has made several embroidered tapestries. Stylistically, the tapestries are inspired by both Norwegian folk-art and Byzantine art, and not least by the famous Bayeux tapestry from the 12th Century.
