Daido Moriyama

Daido Moriyama, born in 1938 in Japan, lives and works in Tokyo. He worked as an assistant for other photographers before he began taking his own pictures in 1964. Moriyama prefers to focus on the neighbourhood of Shinjuku in Tokyo, where he lives, works and photographs daily life and his fellow residents. His photographs are powerful, often out of focus and have a grainy look. One of his best known photographies, “Stray Dog”, is part of Telenor’s collection.
